Yesterday a thought-provoking article about a woman learning to swim for the first time at the age of 29 ran in the UK’s Guardian newspaper. While it focuses on late learners to swimming (also citing that, despite swimming being mandatory for schoolchildren, 40% of those leaving primary school never have had a lesson), it got us thinking about people who take the (figurative) plunge and begin a new activity in adulthood. Swimming is a common one, but what about surfing or hang-gliding or learning to fly a plane?
Lots of our fans tell us how they are taking their Zaggoras hiking in Malaysia, on Warrior Dashes, or on holiday to far-flung locales (far-flung for us at least!). As you know, we are all about getting active and taking on a challenge (starting with the Two Week Challenge of course). Some other challenges someone might do are take up yoga, train for a marathon, or learn a new sport.
Have you taken up any new challenges recently, or learned a physical skill or activity at a later point in your life? What motivated you to get started? Tell us in the comments!
You can also connect with Zaggora on Facebook, Google Plus and Twitter, and pin our photos on Pinterest. See you there!

Well I am older than 29 years and I am also learning how to swim. Have just had 2 lessons so far and it still scares me – but it was on my “Things to do before I die” list – hence I finally took the plunge (so to speak) and am hoping I will be able to learn how to swim and enjoy it
If I can do it – then anyone can!!
I’ve recently started to run short 5k and 10k marathons…wearing Zaggora of course! I didn’t think I would have made it to the end of the line without someone pulling me, but I did it and now I think I may be addicted to running haha. I’m planning to train for a half marathon and eventually run a long marathon. I love feeling great after finishing a run. Oh and I also lost weight faster than I thought because those hot pants really make you sweat!
I have started to tain in artistic gymnastics at age 40!!! I started 2 weeks ago, encouraged by my 6 year old gymnast. I am loving it so far – I do wear my hot pants and I am now able to do a cartwheel, a hand stand and a pull over on the bars!
